POSITION SUMMARY

Playbook is seeking a results-oriented self-starter to help grow Playbook’s Data, Analytics and Insights work. The role will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day needs of clients and other client services team members via Accounts and Activation teams, develop and deliver research specific projects for clients, as well as develop marketing/business development tools, using research to grow business.

The ideal candidate is a motivated and ambitious individual who has the ability to work independently and within a team, with a background in sports, healthcare, and/or entertainment, seeking a long-term commitment to grow and cultivate skills in a fast-moving setting.

This position will require cross-department collaboration, with the ability to support client services, creative strategy, activation, as well as business development. Candidate will be expected to have strong interpersonal skills, allowing them to, when needed be part of client presentation, new business pitches, and other presentations.

With this position, there will be occasions that you will be required to support client needs at various events or sporting events that fall on nights and/or weekends. Understanding that the sports business can bring late nights and weekend work, this role may extend beyond a traditional 9-5.

 This role is full time, and is remote as far as locale. Travel to clients, conferences and events will be required on occasion.

essential functions

Overseeing expansion and growth of the Playbook Analytics Platform

  • Continuing growth and expansion of work with existing third-party research providers, tools and software, as well as identifying new platforms to tap into

  • Creation, and expansion of internal research and analytics tools including:

    • Media valuation and rate card asset valuation tools

    • Normative data to house sponsorship impact and ROI study data, providing ease/ability to cut data, identify key trends, and share with clients/prospects

    • “Subscription” services, where clients and or prospects can tap into syndicated data on an ongoing basis

New Business Development (working with CEO, President) on marketing, prospecting, and securing new clients for analytics services

Cross-Organizational Support – delivering insights and strategic recommendations via these insights, to Playbook team and clients using research, data and analytics to support cross-organizational and cross-team goals, including:

  • Account Services

  • Client Strategy, Activation and Experiential

  • Business Development

  • Assessment of new business verticals

  • Expansion of existing verticals, working in support of vertical leads (e.g. Corporate Partnerships, Causes/Philanthropy)

Strategic Planning & Client Services

  • Providing strategic support for retainer/consulting clients

    • Develop marketing strategies aligned with client's business objectives.

    •  Provide insights and recommendations on how to achieve client goals

  • Leading client relations/work for clients solely scoped for research projects

Data Collection & Management

  • Working with third-party partners to develop and coordinate capture of key data for client projects, including surveys, syndicated research, and more

  • Development of Playbook-owned tools, databases and measurement processes to supplement and complement third-party data

  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and proper organization.

  • Maintain databases, dashboards, and reporting systems.

Research & Consumer Insights

  • When scoped, conduct market research to measure client success, trends

  • Analyze competitors and audience demographics

  • Use surveys, focus groups, and other methodologies to gather insights.

  • Datamining, pulling support data to drive Business Development/Growth

Campaign Measurement & Performance Analytics

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing campaigns.

  • Analyze metrics like impressions, CTR, conversion rates, ROI, and engagement.

  • Develop reports to communicate performance to clients and internal teams.

  • Identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Predictive & Advanced Analytics

  • Use machine learning and predictive modeling to forecast trends.

  • Segment audiences for more precise targeting.

  • Attribution modeling to determine which marketing efforts drive results

Reporting & Dashboard Creation

  • Develop, and maintain (or oversee maintaining of) dashboards to visualize data for real-time insights.

  • Present findings in an easy-to-understand format for stakeholders.

  • Provide actionable insights and strategic guidance, based on data to key stakeholders

Testing & Optimization

  • Analyze test results to refine campaigns and increase efficiency.

  • Recommend adjustments based on performance data.

New Product Development

  • Development of new tools, insights packaging and features that can be enhance offerings or create social/digital assets (i.e.: “Playbook’s MLB Healthcare ROI Index”, or “Playbook Annual State of Healthcare X Football Report”)

requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sports Marketing, Data Science, Marketing, Communications or related field encouraged

  • Preferred minimum 5 years of direct experience within the marketing, sports, healthcare and/or events industry

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to develop client facing presentations / materials. Experience with data mapping services preferred.

  • Strong skills and experience with diagnosing and resolving complex problems and opportunities

  • Familiarity with leading/supporting brand development planning, innovation and creative ideation processes

  • Strong analytical, decision-making, influence, communication and presentation skills

  • Proven ability to multitask, and see projects through from conception to execution

  • Demonstrated ability to work within in a fast-paced environment and possess high levels of professionalism, particularly in stressful situations

  • Self-motivated with a keen interest to learn from other members of the organization and clients

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Passion for sports and entertainment, and the role sponsorships play in those fields

  • Always up for a challenge. You are eager to work on new projects with a positive outlook, no matter how big or small the task at hand
